After a fantastic first-year
collaboration, Wild Rivers Expeditions (WRE) and Far Out
ExpeditionS® (FOE) are excited to offer another
excellent expedition on the Colorado Plateau.
This 11-day trip combines a WRE 5-day, 65-mile
San Juan River journey with a 6-day, FOE 18-mile back pack
through Slickhorn Canyon.

Focusing on human prehistory
and wilderness exploration, both legs of the journey will explore
some of the Southwest's most intriguing archaeological sites--including
Butler Wash and Desecration petroglyph panels and River House
cliff dwelling along the river, as well as the much less explored
and archaeologically-rich Slickhorn Canyon.
The partnership between two of the region’s
finest and most reputable outfitters ensures that this well-provisioned
trip features caring, professional guides and unparalleled interpretation
of the canyons' archaeology, geology and natural history.
Spaces are limited, back packing-appropriate
physical conditioning is a must, and GPS units are not allowed.
Dates: September
8-18, 2008
Price: $2840.50
per person.

"This
trip had everything – from rafting through the
majestic meanders of the San Juan River to an epic
backcountry adventure hiking in the footsteps of the
Anasazi. It was truly amazing."
