Your
hosts, Vaughn and Marcia Hadenfeldt, offer adventures designed
specifically for the individual or group. Most trips are
led by Vaughn who has spent over 30 years exploring and
guiding in the region. His passion for archaeological sites,
especially rock art, is what distinguishes our trips. We’ve
spent years in the field seeking out the sometimes subtle,
elusive, less visited remains of prehistoric cultures.
We cherish these areas and take our responsibility of visiting
these sites very seriously. By sharing our knowledge we
hope to instill an admiration of the prehistory and landscape
as well as an understanding of their preservation and care
to all who would travel here.

By Vaughn Hadenfeldt |
"Nuances
of canyonscape, vestigial Anasazi ruins, all-but-vanished
panels of prehistoric rock art, mountain lion tracks,
inscriptions scratched by cowboys with bullet lead on
sandstone walls a century ago--all these prodigies of
the outback Vaughn manages to discover in places where
I would have passed them blithely and ignorantly by."
